Administrative records series, 1915-1946.

The Administrative records series is organized into five subseries. The Correspondence subseries, 1933-1942 (0.4 cubic ft.), Acc. 55, contains departmental communications between E.D. Brown of the Sociological Department and the Accounting Department, Dispursement Department and Employment Department as well as the pay office regarding various welfare accounts. In addition there is correspondence with the Equitable Trust Company of Detroit and the Wayne County Treasurer. The Orders on Paymaster Forms subseries, 1932-1941 (1.2 cubic ft.), Acc. 55, includes forms which gave the paymaster the authority to deduct wages from the paychecks of Ford Motor Company employees. The Procedure Manuals subseries, ca. 1933, ca. 1946 (0.4 cubic ft.), Acc. 280, includes two Sociological Department procedure manuals. The Profit-Sharing Plan report subseries, 1915 (1 folder), Acc. 1018, contains a compiled book describing the results of the Ford Motor Company profit-sharing plan. The book includes letters from Detroit officials commenting on the positive work of the investigators; fifty-one human interest stories written by Sociological Department investigators illustrating unsanitary living conditions of Ford employees; John R. Lee's addresses at Sociological Department meetings with investigators; and a report describing the Ford English School. The Special Reports subseries, 1930-1938 (0.4 cubic ft.), Acc. 55, contains reports on Dearborn schools, welfare fraud cases, and investigations into the case work of the Detroit Welfare Department.
